S&ELCP Academy

Build a Career, Make a Difference

The S&ELCP Academy is designed to support the continual development of a pipeline of talent. Our aim is to offer you more than a job, but a career that can make a difference with programmes to support individuals on designed career pathways. This project is part funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The Partnership, the largest of its kind in the country, is made up of around 1,000 members of staff and over 120 elected members serving over 300,000 residents across 1,112 square miles in total. In joining us, you'll be part of a bold and ambitious partnership focused on delivering quality services, opportunities, investment and value for our residents, businesses, partners and employees.

The roles offered are designed to equip you will the skills and experience to progress.

You don't need prior work experience or formal specialist qualifications to apply, we will help you to achieve these with the opportunity to progress onto higher study completing a degree apprenticeship with us.

Routes currently offered:

Planning

  • Trainee Planner
  • Completion of Level 7 Chartered Town Planner Degree Apprenticeship; and attainment of RTPI Chartered Town Planner status.

Environmental Health

  • Trainee Environmental Health Officer
  • Completion of Level 6 Environmental Health Practitioner Degree Apprenticeship.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Trainee Regulatory Compliance Officer
  • Completion of Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Apprenticeship.

Climate Change and Environment

  • Trainee Climate Change and Environment Officer
  • Completion of Level 6 Environmental Practitioner Degree Apprenticeship;

A training programme will be provided alongside key milestones that you will be expected to achieve. All roles are career-graded, meaning you'll progress through the pay scales as you meet key milestones.
