Arts & Heritage Artist Commission
Ayscoughfee Hall, Spalding
Set in five acres of beautiful gardens and free to enter, Ayscoughfee Hall is a hidden Medieval gem in Lincolnshire. Many of the Hall's owners have left their mark on the grade I listed building, so a visit is a chance to experience features from the Medieval to the Victorian, and to come face to face with the people that lived here. The Museum also tells the story of Spalding and the surrounding Lincolnshire Fens.
Many events take place throughout the year, including theatre productions, reenactments and band concerts- it's always worth checking out our website for more information: Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens.

The Brief
Ayscoughfee Hall are recreating an 18th Century Georgian Pleasure Garden in the grounds of the Hall on the evening of Saturday 22 March 2025.
As part of the event, we are looking to commission two separate local artists to collaborate and engage local community groups and individuals in the creation of two bespoke artworks that celebrate the heritage of the hall, the local community and create a dialogue with the theme of an '18th Century Georgian Pleasure Garden'.
There are two identified sites for the artworks: The Peace Garden and The Canal. The Canal site will require the installation to sit on top the water, therefore materials and installation will need to be a consideration. Both installations will need to incorporate light.
