South & East Lincolnshire Community Lottery raises over £5k for good causes in first two months

The South & East Lincolnshire Community Lottery has managed to raise over £5.3k for good causes across the sub-region in its first two months, whilst also providing local residents with the chance to win cash prizes.

The South & East Lincolnshire Community Lottery has managed to raise over £5.3k for good causes across the sub-region in its first two months, whilst also providing local residents with the chance to win cash prizes.

Launched in November of last year, the Community Lottery scheme has benefited local organisations and groups ranging from sports clubs to day centres, receiving 50p from every £1 ticket they sell, with a further 10p going into a Central Fund that is also distributed to good causes.

Players have had the chance to support local causes whilst also being in with a chance of winning cash prizes of up to £25,000. Additional 'bolt-on' prizes will also be up for grabs in 2023, including a year's worth of Hello Fresh, a trip to Centre Parcs and much more.

Good causes still are being encouraged to sign up, there's no limit on the number of causes that can join. Each good cause will be given its own page on the website to direct their supporters to. Any not-for-profit organisation that is interested can sign up at www.selcplottery.co.uk

Kim from Trusthorpe Villlage Hall in Mablethorpe said "I would encourage any organisation to sign their cause up to the South and East Lincolnshire Community Lottery as it's so easy. You just follow a few simple steps and you're ready to go."

"The support to help build your profile is amazing, you have your own dedicated dashboard which you can personalise for your cause, have instant access to all your supporters, marketing hints and tips, as well as handy leaflets available for you to upload to your social media sites.  We are so proud of the support from the community which we have already received, in fact we have already sold 220% of our ticket target."

"I would also encourage anyone to participate in the South and East Lincolnshire Community Lottery as it's only £1 per week!"

"Trusthorpe Village Hall has been part of the South and East Lincolnshire Community Lottery for the past 7 weeks and we have had winners in 6 of those 7 weeks. What a great way to support your favourite cause!"

Maisie from the Meadows Day Centre in Spalding said: "The community lottery has been a great way to fundraise for us, whilst giving supporters the chance to win prizes themselves."

"50% of each supporting ticket goes directly to us at The Meadows and allows us to use the money for outside entertainment, new activities and day to day costs. We have enjoyed waiting for the draw to see if any of our supporters have won - and we have had a couple!"

Chloe from Boston Women's Aid said: "The South and East Lincolnshire Lottery is an easy way to support our service, any donations are gratefully received and will help towards families in refuge, who are fleeing domestic abuse."

"Imagine leaving your home, with nothing but the clothes you are standing in and travelling to a new area, where you don't know a sole. Coming to refuge can be an extremely difficult time for victims of domestic abuse and their children, but with your support we can help to make their journey much smoother.

"You could also be in with a chance of winning some amazing prizes for yourself too! Thank you for your ongoing support."

Emily Spicer, Assistant Director for Wellbeing and Community Leadership at the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership, said: "As a Partnership, we're very pleased at the success that the South & East Lincolnshire Community Lottery has had in its first few months, raising over £5k for charity is a great achievement - well done to all involved in the project."

Tickets are available to buy online at www.selcplottery.co.uk at a cost £1 each, and winners could scoop up to £25,000. Draws take place every Saturday at 8pm. The lucky winners will be informed by email and will have the money transferred automatically into their bank account.
