South & East Lincolnshire Community Lottery Gets Green Light
The South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership (SELCP) is delighted to announce the launch of South & East Lincolnshire Community Lottery, an exciting new fundraising initiative for good causes. The lottery will be a great way for people to support good causes whilst providing a chance to win cash prizes!
Leading lottery management company, Gatherwell, has been appointed by SELCP to run the scheme, having already launched many similar lotteries elsewhere.
When the lottery launches in autumn 2022 people will be able to purchase tickets online, and support the good cause of their choice. Tickets will cost £1a week. The draw will be weekly with a jackpot of £25,000, other prizes being £2,000, £250 and £25.
Good causes will soon be invited register to raise funds with South & East Lincolnshire Community Lottery, and keep 50%% from every ticket they sell. A further 10% from every ticket will go into a Central Fund that will be distributed to more good causes, with the remainder being put towards prizes, operating costs and VAT.
Councillor Martin Griggs, Boston Borough Council portfolio holder for Housing and Communities, Councillor Graham Marsh, East Lindsey District Council deputy leader and portfolio holder for Partnerships and Councillor Gary Taylor, South Holland District Council portfolio holder for communities and facilities, said they were "delighted" that the lottery is going ahead.
"We have seen how other Councils have launched similar initiatives and how their communities have benefitted as a result. It will provide our people with support and also another tool to empower themselves."
"We look forward to witnessing the same impact in South & East Lincolnshire."
Regular updates on the progress of South & East Lincolnshire Community Lottery will be posted on the Boston, South Holland and East Lindsey District Council websites and Facebook pages.
